"Magnolia Morning" is painted from photographs I took on a visit to the Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Painting primarily with my palette knives, I enjoyed creating the deep texture of the petals. The brushwork background is a soothing turquoise that stands out on the wall.
